HEB Driving School’ Authorized DPS Road Test appointments are available Saturday and Sunday.  The hours are Saturday and Sunday at 9:20am 4:40pm.

HEBDS is proud to announce that Ahmed Elshazly is back.  He will be performing road test examine and adult lessons on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Business office hours are Monday thru Thursday 9:00am to 4:00pm, Closed on Friday.  Saturday and Sunday hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm.

To take an Authorized DPS Road Test you must be 16 years of age or older and have a Valid Texas Learner or Temporary Permit with your picture on the document.  HEB Driving School is an Authorized DPS third party testing site.  The office is Located at 505 North Industrial Blvd., suite 500, Bedford, TX 76021.

Please make sure you have all required paperwork printed prior to arriving for your scheduling authorized DPS Road Test.

If you are a US born Citizen, for a fee of $40 HEB Driving School's Customers can have their authorized DPS Road Test submitted to the DPS office via electronically the same day.  you will also go into the TXT.com web site and set up your account.  Once the Road Test is approved by the DPS office then you will log into txt account and pay the DPS fee and print your license off.   You will not have to go to the DPS office and turn in your road test documents yourself.  

Prior to your road test please go to the Texas Department Public Safety web site: https://www.dps.texas.gov/section/driver-license and search for Texas Driver License or Identification Card Application - either a DL-14A (adult over 17 years and 10 months of age ) or DL-14B (minor 16 or 17 years of age).  Must fill out the form in black ink.

If you decide to use your personal vehicle for the road test, this vehicle must have a current inspection/registration sticker, front and rear license plates the bumpers, and a paper copy of proof of vehicle liability insurance.

Everyone must watch the 2- or 1-hour Impact Texas Teen or Adult Drivers video prior to your Road Test and bring a printed copy of your certificate when you take a road test

Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time.   Please have copies of your required information listed below at the time of your Authorized DPS Road Test:

 

If you are 16 years of age or older:

  • Must have a legal guardian or parent present at the time of the test 
  • Possess a valid DE-964 Certificate. Parents 30-hour Practice log (20 hours during the day and 10 hours after dusk).  No more than one hour or less a day.   If you log the hours on HEBDS system, then go to www.schedule2drive.com to print the report. 
  • If your child went through a parent taught program; please bring the following: PT or DEE Certificate that states for “Driver License Only”, A list of modules your child completed on-line, 30-hour Parent Log, and a 14-hour Laboratory (in-car) Completion log.
  • Have a valid Texas learner license for a minimum of six months and has not expired.
  • A certificate from the DPS Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) video and dated within 90 days of the skills examination.

  • Proof of Insurance on the car that you will be testing in except when you use HEB's car.

If you are 18-24 years of age:

  • Possess a valid DE-964 or ADE-1317 showing completion of a Driver Education Course.
  • Must have a valid B restricted (Learner's Permit) Texas driver license. The License cannot be expired.
  • A certificate from the DPS Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video and receive a certificate dated within 90 days of the skills examination.

  • Proof of Insurance on the Car that you will be testing in except when you use HEB's car.
  • Please Note: If a student is 18-24 years of age on the scheduled test date and has a DE-964 or PT certificate that was completed as a teenager then they must follow the teenage ITTD requirements
  • Proof of Insurance on the car that you will be testing in except when you use HEB's car.

If you are 25 or over years of age:

  • Must have a valid B restricted (Learner's Permit) Texas driver license. The License cannot be expired.
  • A certificate from the DPS Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) video and receive a certificate dated within 90 days of the skills examination. Please note: To access the Impact Video, click on the link to find more information on the ITAD program here, then click on the green box to register.
  • Proof of Insurance on the car that you will be testing in except when you use HEB's car.
  • Note: If you are older than 25 and are applying for a Texas driver's license for the first time, you are not required to have completed driver education, however, it is highly recommended.

All Age Groups:

  • All documents required for your age group must be printed, we cannot print documents, and we cannot accept any digital forms or on your phone.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to go through the paperwork requirements.

The Authorized DPS Road Test fee is $75.00. If you should fail an Authorized DPS Road Test, you will have 2 more attempts to pass the Road Test with no additional cost.   Clients are welcome to reserve the use of one of HEB Driving School vehicle for your road tests, for an additional fee of $50.00. To be eligible for a refund, we require at least a 72-hour notice prior to the cancelation of an appointment. Rescheduling or cancel a road test within that 72-hour window incur a $25 cancellation or reschedule.  

If possible, please contact us ahead of your scheduled road test and confirm the availability of one of HEBDs' road test vehicle. If you decide to use your personal vehicle for the road test, this vehicle must have a current inspection/registration sticker, front and rear license plates, and a paper copy of proof of vehicle liability insurance (your name does not have to be on the car insurance papers).
